Valerie Carrigan

Artist / Creative (Individual)

Valerie Carrigan works out of her studio in a historic mill in western Massachusetts where she produces drawings, paintings, prints and artist books. Her work explores the intersection of the natural world and the human spirit. Valerie was the 2015 Book Artist in Residence at Maine Media Workshops + College in Rockport, Maine and recently completed an artist residency at In Cahoots in Petaluma, California. She is an awardee of the Assets for Artists Grant through Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) and is currently a Visiting Artist and Lecturer at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where she teaches Drawing, Design, and Studies of the Book. Additional teaching includes The University of Georgia Studies Abroad Program to Cortona, Italy, Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont, and Maine Media Workshops + College in Rockport, Maine.
