I am a visual music artist who translates music into unique abstract paintings and photography. Originally from Venezuela, I draw deep inspiration from mid-20th-century artists from both Venezuela and New York City. My lifelong connection to music began with classical training in piano and flute, which eventually gave way to a visual arts path through studies in architecture and fine arts.
My artistic journey explores the rich interplay between sound and image. Through vibrant, expressive abstraction, I translate the emotional landscapes of diverse musical genres into visual form—creating a bridge between two powerful art forms that stir and provoke the human spirit. Each piece seeks to capture the essence of music—its melodies, harmonies, and rhythms—through a visual language that resonates on a visceral level.
My process begins with immersion: I study musical scores, sometimes learning the pieces on piano (though I consider myself a novice musician), and sketch emotional responses through color and texture. I identify which section of the music I will translate—often focusing on a fragment rather than the whole—and develop a series of works from that single piece. When painting, I surrender to the cadence of the music, allowing it to guide my gestures, materials, and surfaces.
I work with water-based media, oil sticks, and found objects on wood, metal panels, or canvas. Abstract painting gives me the freedom to move beyond literal representation and into the realm of the subconscious, where each brushstroke becomes a note, and layered textures form visual chords. My process—like music itself—blends structure and improvisation, planning and spontaneity, seeking harmony in contrast and resonance in expression.
