RED THREAD NETWORK

Arts Service Organization

The community based organization is a support network for area artists in all disciplines.  They began with an outdoor art event called Terriers around Town, using fify 40 inch fiberglass sculptures, decorated by local artists, and funded by local businesses.  The funds from this project have sponsors 7 years of art classes for town children.

The largest activities for the Red Thread Network include a decorative tree display in December held in a car dealor showroom. This celebration for the arts brings together businesses, organizations and individuals who donate the trees, local performing artists who share their talents, and the community individuals who purchase raffle tickets to win their favorite tree. Funds raised from this event help sponsor the annual juried art show in the spring, art supplies used in programming at the public library, family art events at a local elementary school, and other grants for 'pop up' art events in the community.
