Ohketeau is the Nipmuc word for a place to plant and grow. The Ohketeau Cultural Center serves as a place of creation and growth; where ideas will be born, nurtured, and lived out. Not only does this space allow for creative projects, but it is a safe haven for Indigenous community.
Each event that takes place in this space will help to cultivate learning and growth. From traditional workshops such as regalia and drum making; all the way through to contemporary performances with Indigenous focus. Ideally, this space is one that people feel they can turn to, free from institutional bonds.
Ohketeau is a place of collaboration and learning for all of our people. The variety of classes and workshops offered includes tanning, herbalism & medicine, weaving and more.
It is a place of art, culture, education, wellbeing and a place of Support for the Native American Community.
