Moving Arts Exchange

Arts Center

In September 2016, Andrea Blacklow and Ellen Gorman created Moving Arts Exchange (MAX), a non-profit dance organization, drawing on their extensive experience in performance, choreography and dance education. With a passion for collaboration and an inclusive approach to dance education, MAX creates opportunities for trained and untrained dancers on the stage, at local community events, and out in the streets. Opportunities include working with our resident and teen companies, ongoing classes for children, teens and adults, MAXFlash events, a site-specific dance, and video Projects, and collaboration with the MAX Choir and other local artists and arts organizations. MAX creates work relevant to our collective experiences, which has a profound and positive effect on practitioners, young emerging teen artists, and the surrounding community.
