Megan Casey (she/her/hers) is a dancer, artist, and performing arts educator. Originally from New York, Casey began her dance training at the age of three. She received her early dance education from Joan Butler Institute of Dance, Terpsichore the Dancerschool, and New York Dance Center. She was fortunate enough to learn from artists such as Carolyn-Ockert Haythe, Michael Rios, Alyssa Balerezo, and Denise Carter to name a few. Currently, Casey is studying to receive her BA in Dance with minors in Community Arts and Education from Springfield College. At Springfield College, Casey is in her fourth year performing with the Dance Repertory Touring Company, under the direction of artistic director Sarah Zehnder. As a part of the company, Casey has had several performance opportunities, such as the American College Dance Association’s Super Northeast Conference, as well as the Springfield Thunderbirds Hockey halftime show. She has also had the opportunity to teach dance in private studios, public schools and worked as a dance teacher at her local YMCA. Additionally, she has had the privilege of performing in works by Didy Veldman, Tatiana Desardouin (Passion Fruit Dance Company), and Kodee Van Nort through Springfield College’s dance program. She is also heavily involved on campus, currently serving as President for the Springfield College Dance Club, an Orientation Leader for new students, a Student Advocate for Wellness, and a Pride Cares peer-to-peer mental health support. Casey continuously looks for ways to help others in her community, and to pursue her passion for the arts in her future career.
