The Theatre Program at MCLA is a place where motivated students pursue excellence, find mentorship and create theatre of the highest quality.
FPA Theatre students use the lens of theatre to shape their education in two ways:
• Concentration in Theatre as part of the multi-disciplinary Bachelors of Art in Fine and Performing Arts
• Minor in Theatre
The Program’s relatively small size and idyllic location, tucked away in the heart of the Berkshires, allows students to hone their craft in an intimate, liberal arts college setting more like that of a private college. They encounter small classes and one-to-one mentoring where they develop personal relationships with professors dedicated to teaching and committed to the highest professional standards. Every student works closely with his or her mentor, a faculty member who serves as that student’s artistic advisor.
The study of theatre naturally combines traditional and experiential learning experiences by offering coursework alongside the practical experience of producing plays for a season. By offering students a broad-based expertise in the fundamental aspects of theatre, MCLA’s Theatre Program provides students the flexibility for success.
