More About the Co-Creators

Johnny Miranda and Jeannette Rivera are both active Chicopee community members who are passionately invested in beautifying its center and creating and "artmosphere" that reflect the vibrant diversity of the city they call home. With more and more storefronts closing, and creative entrepreneurs needing refuge and exposure, Johnny & Jeannette decided to create La Diáspora, a name inspired by their Afro-Taino-Boricua roots, and encompasses the broad range of artists in their growing collective.

As space activators, it is important to Johnny & Jeannette that they take a community-responsive business approach with La Diáspora, focusing on being creatively adaptive and fostering sustainable results that stimulate local economic growth, exposure, and expansion of local creatives, non-profits, and surrounding businesses.

Johnny & Jeannette believe that, “The way to thrive is by sharing our abundance of resources, in doing this, we can bridge the gaps of care in our communities and foster more joy, creativity & peace"
