Julia Kim Dixon is a creative economy consultant, strategic and cultural planner, and freelance writer based in western Massachusetts. Services include:
- For creative entrepreneurs: business mentoring/coaching, curating, marketing
- For organizations: strategic planning, research, reporting, program development, project management
- For municipalities: cultural planning, creative sector convening, arts-driven economic development consulting
- For educational institutions: seminars and workshops about the creative economy, arts entrepreneurship, arts management
She was the strategic visioning consultant for a cultural plan project that serves all of Bennington County, Vermont, and published the report in May 2019. She was a contributing researcher for The Berkshire Blueprint 2.0 economic development plan, 1Berkshire’s Berkshire Initiative for Growth Report, and Building on a Legacy of Creativity: Understanding and Expanding the Creative Economy of the Northeast Kingdom that serves rural Vermont.
Julia is an adjunct professor in the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and has taught and lectured undergraduate and graduate students at New Hampshire Institute of Art and Purchase College. Previously, she served as managing director of Berkshire Creative and creative economy specialist at 1Berkshire.
She has written articles, columns, and blog posts for multiple regional and national media outlets including Americans for the Arts, CommonWealth Magazine, Berkshire Magazine, The Berkshire Eagle, and Berkshire Nonprofit Connections.
