Jenna Feld (she/they) is originally from Keene, New Hampshire, and is studying for her BA in Dance and BS in Health Sciences at Springfield College (SC). Upon graduation, they will pursue graduate school to become a physical therapist (PT). Feld started dancing with two non-profit New Hampshire state programs, New Hampshire Dance Institute (NHDI) and MoCo Arts. They were with NHDI for many years as a dance student, camp counselor, teaching assistant, and as backstage hands. Feld danced at MoCo arts from 2013-2020, and was a part of many productions studying ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and commercial hip-hop dance. Throughout her time at SC, they have also expanded their movement vocabulary to include improvisation, West African, ballet, jazz, specific techniques such as Dunham and Horton within modern dance, and street dance styles such as hip-hop and house.
At Springfield College, Feld has been studying under and working closely with Sarah Zehnder, as a part of the repertory company. She has also studied with Kodee Van Nort, Tatiana Desardouin of Passion Fruit Dance, Maureen Shea, and Tara Murphy. During her time at Springfield College she has worked with and performed pieces by Sarah Zehnder, Kodee Van Nort, Tatiana Desardouin, and Jennifer Pollins. In addition to SC, she has worked with Duftin Garcia with the National Dance Institute (NDI) for many years through NHDI’s annual summer program. Feld has also been able to attend the American College Dance Association’s regional conferences the past few years through Springfield College, performing in two of their adjudicated concerts with contemporary choreography by Elaine Ortiz (2022) and tap choreography by Nicole Henkel (2023).
In addition, Feld has years of experience performing. They have performed in Springfield College’s annual December concert (2020-present), the student choreographed Spring Concert (2021-present), and senior shows (2022, 2023). Outside of SC, they have performed tap pieces by Nicole Henkel at Boston Dance Studios fundraising event (2023), and the Alchemy Movement Company’s Hartford Dance Collective in (2023).
At Springfield College, Feld has choreographed for the annual Spring Concert. Her first being a commercial hip hop piece and the second being a contemporary piece. During her final year, she is working on expanding her studies to choreograph tap and jazz pieces as well. Feld wants to continue choreographing and dancing during their time in PT school.
