Henry Gates is full time as artist. He has completed a career as a psychologist for Later Life, with Jungian influence. Before, he taught religious studies and
visual arts/'creativity' for a decade. He has worked for a decade each in acrylics/pastels/clayart/oilpaint. He's lately joined The Fenway Studios #210, he
understands the Boston School. His own work pursues figurative and symbolic still life. Seven years ago, he sold the clay studio at The Artist Building of
Summer street, Boston. He acquired a 1895 house near Mass MoCA in North Adams; now fully renovated for a six bedroom/three floors property.
Out buildings on the property are an art library; writer's retreat; and art gallery. ThIs is called The Ice Cream Art House; suitable for retreats/seminars.
During summer, guests are arranged with Mass MoCA; in registration with airbnb. Out of 'season', Henry Gates offers workshops about the artist
process. "Art Spirit Create" is offered during summers at The Ice Cream Art House, or Fenway Studio.
