Girl Howdy

Performing Group

Girl Howdy is a 5-piece combo from Way Out West (Western MA, that is) featuring an all-gal frontline tearing it up on pedal steel guitar, piano, flat-top guitar and soaring vocal harmonies, backed by a top-notch rhythm section of upright bass and drums. Playing music from the classic honky-tonk era spanning the late 1940's to the early 1960's, Girl Howdy draws their material from such legends as Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Ray Price, the Davis Sisters and Webb Pierce, as well as penning honky-tonk-inspired originals. Girl Howdy has been bringing their vintage twang and country swing to festivals, clubs and dancehalls throughout the Northeast since 2003 and were invited to play at the 2010 Texas steel guitar jamboree in Dallas. They often partner with a TX two-step dance instructor for dance events.
