I am a designer, artist and educator based in North Adams, Massachusetts. I am trained as a landscape architect and create garden designs for residential clients. My colored pencil illustration work is engaged with the direct observation and representation of botanical subjects, including flowers, plants, bulbs, lichen, fungi and more. I work on commissions by request. A recent commission is drawing a virus, which is a fascinating challenge. Additionally, I teach on-line and in-person botanical drawing and painting classes in graphite, colored pencil and watercolor. I have 15 years of experience as a magazine writer focused on design and urban planning. Today, I write occasional articles about the art world.
