Community Service Organization

CATA nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities through shared experiences in the visual and performing arts. Founded in 1993 by dance therapist, Sandra Newman, CATA now serves over 800 people with disabilities in Berkshire County, employing 26 faculty artists who teach workshops in theatre, dance, painting, juggling, creative writing, singing, drumming, mime, and yoga. CATA workshops take place in our fully accessilble new arts center, with visual and performing arts studios, and our faculty also travel to area schools and more than 40 human service organizations throughout the county.
