Cecilia Fontanesi

Dancer Cecilia Fontanesi, PH.D., is a dancer, choreographer, movement analyst, dance therapist, and neuroscientist. She graduated from the Laban/ Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS), where she currently teaches as faculty. Cecilia also works for the Dance Department at the University of Massachusettes, Amherst. In 2015, she co-founded the collective of dancers Parcon NYC, exploring the relationship with the environment through movement and social reflection. Since 2017, she serves as Artistic Director Associate for the IDACO (Italian DAnce COnnection) festival in NYC. She is supported by Cathy Appel, Overtime Dance Foundation, which promotes the creative work of artists who make fearless connections through embodied expression.
