I am a fabric crafter from Kingston, NY now living in Greenfield, MA with my husband. I have experimented with many different expressive arts over the years, but have fallen in love with fabric. I am endlessly amazed by the origami of fabric craft- how you can attach pieces in such a way that gives them dimension and transforms them.
I opened Buttonfoot in January of 2012 with the vision of creating fabric accessories with re-purposed coffee bean burlap bags and vintage and designer, cotton textiles.
I 'm very interested in contrasting textures, colors and patterns, and seek to surprise and inspire with the use of contradictory materials. Buttonfoot products are both modern and rustic. They combine industrial with raw and farmhouse with contemporary. They are also constructed with re-sourced materials that are environmentally and socially mindful. I’m never happier than when I am sorting through a sensory rainbow of fabrics listening for what they have been and for what they want to become.
