Experienced Pottery Teacher at Easthampton Clay

Easthampton Clay is a vibrant ceramics studio dedicated to fostering creativity and community through pottery education. Located in Easthampton, MA, our studio offers a range of classes and workshops designed to inspire and educate both beginners and advanced students alike.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced pottery teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in ceramics with expertise in wheel throwing, handbuilding, or both. As a member of our studio, you will contribute to our mission of nurturing a culture of creativity and kindness.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting pottery classes for adults of varying skill levels.
• Planning and preparing class materials and curriculum.
• Demonstrating techniques in wheel throwing and handbuilding.
• Providing constructive feedback and guidance to students.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience teaching pottery classes.
• Proficiency in wheel throwing and/or handbuilding techniques.
• A photo portfolio showcasing personal work in ceramics.
• 3+ relevant professional references.
• History as a member or apprentice at a ceramics studio or department preferred.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive studio environment.

Details:

• Position: Pottery Teacher
• Classes: 1-4 classes per term (8-week sessions)
• Class Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours per class
• Compensation: $64 per class
• Ability to attend 2 - 3 teachers meetings per year.
