Williams College presents Williams Jazzday – five free concerts spanning the afternoon and evening in a new way to present the college’s active jazz scene.

Director Kris Allen, trumpeter Bruce Harris, and pianist Jeb Patton will perform with a number of smaller combos and eclectic mix of soloists and guests. The day reaches a finale with the Williams Jazz Orchestra in the evening. Some events are student only, and others are open to the public. Throughout the day, student combos hold forth in various locations.

Student concerts from noon to 2 p.m.

Chapin Hall concerts open to all

Jazz Quintet in Chapin Hall, coached by Kris Allen — 4 p.m.

Jazz Combo, coached by Zaccai Curtis, in Chapin Hall with guest soloist Bruce Harris, trumpet — 4:45 p.m.

Jazzday Evening Concert in Chapin Hall — 7:30 p.m. with the Jazz Six, coached by Gregg August, Bruce Harris on trumpet and Jeb Patton on piano and the Williams Jazz Orchestra.

You will need to wear a mask and show a vaccination card or Williams ID at the door, and capacity is capped at 50 percent.
