Each month, from June to December, South Berkshire Kids and The Mount welcome the community to enjoy a Storywalk — read a picture book and meander a path through the woods. Today they will present Under My Tree by by Muriel Tallandier and Mizuho Fujisawa.
When Susanne leaves her city home to visit her grandmother, she finds a tree in the forest that draws her back to i. Each time she returns to the tree, she sees something new, from the sheltering protection of its branches to the scratchy surface of its bark.
This is a wonderful introduction to trees for young children that gently cultivates an appreciation for nature. Interwoven in the fiction text are unique facts about trees and simple activities that encourage readers to touch, smell, and observe the world that is all around them.

All of the Storywalk community days are free, juststop at the admission booth before you head in to the walk. The Mount’s paths have some uneven terrain and are not always suitable for strollers or people with accessibility concerns.
The Mount is a Massachusetts Cultural Council UP designated organization welcoming participants of all disabilities. They invite anyone to cal and talk with them about any accommodations you may need to join fully in this event.
