Join us for a special event just for Museum Members! Award-winning artist Kadir Nelson talks with Chief Curator Ellen Keiter about The Undefeated, one of the most decorated picture books of the 21st century, and answers questions from the audience.

This free event for members requires advance online registration, as capacity is limited to allow for social distancing. Signed books available in The Carle Bookshop.

The Undefeated: An Exhibition of Original Paintings by Kadir Nelson is on view through April 3. The exhibition is organized by THE JKBN GROUP, LLC.

6:00 pm Museum opens for member check-in. Galleries and Bookshop open.

6:30 pm The Undefeated: A Conversation with Kadir Nelson (Auditorium)

7:30 pm Program concludes. Signed books available in The Carle Bookshop.

Safety Protocols

For this special event, Members must present proof of full COVID-19 vaccination*, along with a valid photo ID, upon entry, and are required to wear face masks throughout the Museum.

Temperature checks will be conducted upon arrival. Members exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or who have recently been exposed should not attend the program.

We recommend guests arrive at least 15 minutes before the 6:30 pm auditorium program to account for health and safety verifications and to avoid delays.

*Full COVID-19 vaccination - According to the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated: 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines) or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine).
