The Slambovian Circus of Dreams
Date/Time
Location
The Shea Theater (71 Avenue A, Turners Falls MA)
Voted "Best Band of 2022" in their home state of New York by Chronogram Magazine, the Slambovians' connection with audiences taps into a greater human-ness, creating a show that constantly evolves "with a little help from their friends." Joining lead singer Joziah Longo with a voice as "soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic" are bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and guitarist extraordinaire Sharkey McEwen. A Woodstock-tinged psychedelia mixed with a hint of southern rock and solid songwriting elevates this version of Americana to new heights. Elements of Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band, Syd Barrett, and The Waterboys flavor the mix. (Waterboys' Anthony Thistlethwaite is featured on the band's last release, A Very Unusual Head). Also performing: RJ McCarty, bass and Matthew Abourezk, drums.
Fans of the band include: Garth Hudson (The Band), Dar Williams, Anthony Thistlethwaite (The Waterboys), Gary Burke (Bob Dylan, Joe Jackson), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull).
