The Science of Wet Felting Demonstration

Chris Pellerin will explain the properties of wool that make it felt-able while demonstrating the wet felting process of transforming fiber to fabric.  She will show how to use math to calculate the shrinkage factor that must be accounted for when designing garments and other felted items, and will talk about why soapy water, friction, and heat are needed to make the magic happen.  Chris will bring a variety of products that she makes to show how versatile the technique is.
