The Mount (2 Plunkett St., Lenox, MA 01240, Lenox MA)
Historians Richard Guy Wilson and Paul F. Miller come to the Mount to discuss a new exhibit highlighting the recent acquisition of photo albums belonging to Francis L.V. Hoppin (1866-1941), The Mount’s principal architect.
Hoppin, who established his architectural firm of Hoppin & Koen, had once worked at McKim, Mead & White, was a talented draughtsman and watercolorist. The two volumes comprising the collection contain over 300 unpublished interior and exterior photos of structures throughout the east coast of the United States. Included in these albums are rare, unpublished photos of The Mount under construction.
