Ron Gorevic, Bach Cello Suites on Viola at Sevenars

Come hear Bach Cello Suites played masterfully by Ronald Gorevic on viola! Mr. Gorevic recently recorded the complete set of these monuments of music literature in a recent CD set for Centaur Records, continuing a long and distinguished career as a performer on both violin and viola, for which he has been hailed by the NY Times as "a musician first and foremost." As a violist, he has been a member of several well-known string quartets spanning over twenty years and covering most of the quartet repertoire. He has toured the US, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Australia, as well as performing recitals in major US cities, including New York, Cleveland, Chicago, and Atlanta, along with broadcasts in many countries. In London, he gave the British premieres of pieces by Donald Erb and Ned Rorem. He has recorded for Centaur as a member of the Prometheus Piano Quartet, and for Koch as a member of the Chester String Quartet. He is currently on the faculties of Smith College, New England Conservatory of Music (Prep), and UMass Amherst.
