Reclaiming Your Voice, Developing a Regular Writing Practice
Date/Time
Location
Ste #044, Eastworks (116 Pleasant Street, Easthampton MA)
Writing as a form of healing, reclaiming the voice, finding the empowerment of having a voice and developing a regular writing practice.
We will do brief intros, a warm up writing exercise and some short creative writing exercises incorporating imagery and imagination. There will be visual art options as well such as doodling and collage (some art activities depend on whether indoor or outdoor), and illustration for those inclined.
There will be opportunities to share pieces of writing with the group and give encouraging feedback. Sharing is optional and all feedback will be neutral or positive. There will not be any criticism of writings. Each piece will be addressed as fiction unless the author requests otherwise. Guidelines will be explained and agreed upon at the beginning.
Chaya will share some of the benefits of a daily writing practice and tips for establishing one.
This one-session workshop will meet outdoors (if weather permits). Further information about the meeting location will be shared upon registration.
Open to people of all identities, ages 12-19.
