PVS Chorus Rehearsal

Join the PVS Chorus! We welcome singers of all experience levels. Rehearsals take place on each Tuesday, 7-9PM at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Hadley, MA. Please contact admin@pvso.org or call 413-773-3664 if you are interested. Ability to sight-read music is appreciated but not strictly required (we'll provide learning guides!). Proof of vaccination and face masks are required.
Prospective singers will be asked to sign up for a brief hearing to check your range in order to place you in the most comfortable section. Singers are also welcome to sing 8-16 bars of a solo piece or Happy Birthday for the new Chorus Director Allegra Martin to get a feel for your sound. You can also choose to audition chamber choir. This smaller group performs acapella vocal music at Chorus concerts and other standalone performances in the community.
This fall, the Chorus will be performing an exciting and inspirational range of music! We will start the season singing Sibelius' thrilling "Finlandia" with the orchestra. November features classical music by Black composers, including Spanish Renaissance composer Vicente Lusitano, Brazilian Baroque composer José Mauricio Nunes Garcia, the 19th-century British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and American composers Bonds, Boykin, Dett, Moore, and Powell. Our December program will feature several joyful holiday medleys, as well as our annual performance of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. The spring brings a fun choral festival with other local chooirs and a May finale with the PVSO, singing one of Mozart's greatest choral works, the Mass in C Minor.
