PLAYMAKERS - making sense of the world through art and play

Whitney Robbins, Bobby Brown and Joan Green share a playful, spontaneous, and improvisatory aesthetic. Robbins is showing paintings and assemblages from their Brown Series. The color brown conjures warm interiors that crack open to the outside world. Joan Greens show oil paintings and mixed media collages that hum with rhythm and movement, and connection, many featuring dancers. Bobby Brown is showing a group of masks, fetishes and sculptures that are simultaneously profound and playful.  He uses repurposed and natural materials as well as found objects. All three of these artists use things discarded, saved, gathered and gifted in the art they create. The Opening Reception on April 5 (2-5) will include a dance performance at 3pm! The exhibit is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in April.
