Following a successful run at the Minnesota Fringe Festival this summer, The Tragedy of Maila Kami is a solo performance blend of dance, singing, drumming, and storytelling - all as a vehicle to explore the challenges of caste-based discrimination in Nepal. As is typical of “hudkeli” performances, audiences will be invited to participate at moments in the piece, with call-and-response singing, rhythm-making, and responding to the performer’s questions. Written by Sahalesh, directed by Rose Schwietz and performed by Suraj Malla.

Friday, September 20 @ 7pm
Saturday, September 21 @ 7pm
Sunday, September 22 @ 2pm
