Pay It Forward Series: Mirror, Mirror: Who’s My Role Model?

Artist and educator, Indë presents “Who’s Your Role Model?” on November 2, 2024, 7:30 pm in CitySpace’s Blue Room at Old Town Hall at 43 Main St. Easthampton, MA. Tickets are $5-20 and are available at CitySpaceEasthampton.org.

The first single “DANTE (wish u were my homie)” and music video from Indë’s album, Role Model, is set to release on October 25th. Indë’s band will perform the album live and present the music video. Sculptures from the music video will be on display alongside large paintings from Indë’s touring exhibit, Mirror, Mirror.

Mirror, Mirror, was first exhibited as a solo show at the 50 Arrow Gallery in September 2024, and makes its second appearance at CitySpace as part of the Pay It Forward Series. Mirror, Mirror showcases music from Indë’s forthcoming album Role Model, large paintings of QTBIPoC, mirror/glass-based sculptures, video projections, and interactive live performances that amplify marginalized voices, both present and prematurely past/passed.

DANTE (the alternative RnB earworm that will be track #6 on Role Model) came to Indë in a dream, a rumor that, “if I manifest it, my soulmate could appear.” The music video for “DANTE (wish u were my homie)” was that dream made manifest. In the video, Indë scries a soulmate through their Magic Mirror, only to find out that he's got a girlfriend... “damn.” In a witty and emotional performance as a mad, barn-dwelling sorcerer, Indë abuses their magic powers to get between Dante and his girl, dramatizing the toxic nature of DL relationships (ie. compulsory heterosexuality). The project marks the artist’s directorial debut.

“Who’s Your Role Model?” is a celebration of artists, activists and abolitionists who have given their lives to create a healthier and more equitable culture in their communities.
