Paste Paper and Journals

A two day workshop where we will explore designing our own papers. The first day of class will be spent making our own paste paper designs using acrylic paint, paste, and various tools to create textures. We will also begin to sew our text blocks. The second day of class we will use our dried paste papers to bind small journals. We will then fold a paper slip case to house our books. Students will go home with the knowledge to create their own papers and small journals at home. Students should be able to thread and handle a needle, and be able to read a ruler. Materials and tools provided.
