Partners in Performance Series: Ida Mae Specker

Hailing from a generations old Vermont based folk music family, Ida Mae Specker is a musical force of nature and her CitySpace debut on April 5th is not to be missed!

Following a free fiddle workshop led by Specker and the 4th monthly CitySpace Bluegrass Jam, this show will have audiences stompin’, singin’, and even cryin’. Specker is known for “playing a rambunctious version of old-time music that owes as much to punk rock as Appalachia, at least in attitude.”

Ida Mae Specker is an old-time fiddler, folk singer and songwriter from Andover, Vermont. Her music fuses original, contemporary, and traditional material, bringing heartfelt new life and relevance to the chain of American folk music. Specker's EP of original music, ‘Billy in the Heartland,’ was released in December 2019. A longtime member of family band The Speckers, Ida Mae is currently touring solo and with a backing band. Specker released a new EP in October 2023, a live session recorded in a church in Peru, VT, by Dan Rome and Austin Burrell (Future Fields).
