Date/Time
Location
Hosmer Gallery at Forbes Library (20 West St, Northampton MA)
Artists' Reception: December 8, 3:30-5:30
Cynthia Chamberland uses acrylics, oils, watercolors and pastels in her paintings of landscapes, water and flowers. Her love of nature and painting transcend physical, emotional, environmental and social barriers she deals with as a person with a physical disability. She has learned to adapt her painting process to be able to paint from her wheelchair with limitations in her hands and strength. She paints in plein air and from her photos at her Easthampton home studio. Applying a modern impressionist style, her intuition guides her in the process.
Gillian Haven
I will be exhibiting oil paintings of the regional landscape, which has been my refuge and companion since my earliest days. The process of painting is a dialogue between constant flux and the search for an enduring presence. Painting is my way of paying attention and homage to a place, seeking its rhythms and discovering its visual language.
Debra Hoyle is currently exploring mixed media using collage, monoprints, and acrylics. Her inspirations come from the beauty of the natural world, a love of history, memoir, mark making, color, texture, and the movement of energy. Debra has also worked in oils, pastels, and watercolors, and has exhibited regionally.
