Ever since the Berkshire Folk Society started meeting at the Lodge on Wednesdays in the 1950s for hootenanny night, Wednesday has been the night for a community music share on the mountain.
The Dream Away Lodge will hold a rotating, diverse cadre of music room hosts to welcome and invite musicians and keep the circle flowing on Wednesday nights, starting around 8.
Rumored to have been a brothel and speakeasy during the great depression, The Dream Away Lodge has been a Berkshire legend for close to a hundred years. Mamma Maria Frasca created an oasis of cocktails, food and drink in the 200-year-old farmhouse at the edge of October Mountain State Forest — played by Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Allen Ginsberg and the Rolling Thunder Review.
From 1997–2020 actor, Daniel Osman (also larger than life) owned and stewarded the Dream Away, and Dan Giddings, Scott Levy and Sheryl Victor Levy now promise to carry on the legend, as Daniel Osman orchestrate events and Amy Loveless returns as Executive Chef.
