Master Your Music in Fewer Practice Sessions

The American Guild of Organists Western Massachusetts Chapter and the music department of UMass Amherst are partnering to present a FREE workshop and masterclass entitled “Master Your Music in Fewer Practice Sessions” – so that the wealth of musicians in our region can do what they do better, quicker, more effectively – and ultimately more joyously.

Principles covered in the workshop given by Chris Prestia include the best ways to organize and plan your practice time, identify core issues behind mistakes, solve issues efficiently, and retain corrections. The new processes learned in these areas can then be gradually integrated into musicians' existing practice routines – whether they are vocalists, string players, brass or woodwind players, or percussionists. Chris will teach how to make these processes habitual through research-based conditioning techniques so musicians will never “forget” to use them.
