Mass MoCA jam — traditional music
Date/Time
Location
Mass MoCA (1040 Mass MoCA Way, North Adams, MA 01247, North Adams MA)
For many years, a group of local musicians have come together in North Adams on Saturday mornings to play traditional music, just for the pleasure of it — Quebeçois reels and Irish jigs, Southern tunes and ragtime, old New England and contradance music. They perform on fiddle and concertina, percussion and winds and whatever instruments they choose to bring along.
They play from around 10:30 to noon, sometimes longer, as the weather and their day unfolds. As the pandemic allows, they are now back indoors in Lickety Split, the cafe at Mass MoCA.
Their music is always free, and anyone is welcome to listen, sit in and jam, dance in the grass or enjoy however the spirit moves them.
