Mark Whitfield is a Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business including Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and Herbie Hancock. He was born in Lindenhurst, New York, and graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1987. His debut album, "Marksman," was released in 1990 and was praised by the New York Times as "a refreshing, balanced, and well-executed travel through jazz genres." Whitfield has since released 14 solo albums and has collaborated on more than 30 albums with artists as diverse as Sting, Steven Tyler, Clark Terry, D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Diana Krall, Christian McBride, and Chris Botti among others. Whitfield is a highly respected musician who is known for his versatility and his ability to blend jazz with other genres.
