Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends....
Manticore is the NY based tribute show paying homage to the legacy of the incomparable 70’s symphonic rock band, Emerson, Lake & Palmer. They faithfully reproduce the music that, in the early 70’s, had a powerful and vital impact on the burgeoning music scene at the time. ELP took classical pieces by the masters - Bach, Mussorgsky, Bartók, Copeland, Prokofiev, Ginastera, Brubeck - and reinterpreted them in a way that the original masters could never have foreseen, infused with the wilder elements of rock ’n roll - distortion, rhythm, power & flash. They established a foundation for future bands such as Yes, Rush, Kiss, Genesis, Queen & Dream Theater and raised the bar for rock bands, enticing them to go big or go home by performing this music in concert halls, stadiums and arenas worldwide.
Rob Shepard on keyboards, Ron Ponella on bass, vocals & guitar and Little John Cristando on percussion recreate the excitement and bombast of the full ELP stage experience. Audiences have traveled from across the nation and around the world to come and see this music reproduced live on stage. Manticore delivers such memorable ELP classics as Fanfare for the Common Man, Lucky Man and Pirates, while also recalling rarities and pieces seldom played by original ELP themselves.
A Manticore show is a cherished reminiscence for older fans and an eye-opening revelation for younger ones. You gotta see the show.....it's a dynamo!
