Greenfield Public Library invites the community to step back in time and explore the thrilling world of 1950s science fiction with its upcoming film festival, "Lost in Space: A Retro Sci-Fi Film Fest!"
From Jan. 13 to Jan 17, GPL will showcase six classic sci-fi films that capture the essence of an era marked by technological advancements, societal anxieties, and the fear of the unknown. These films reflect the societal fears of the 1950s, from alien encounters to advanced technology, mirroring the anxieties of the McCarthy era, the Korean conflict, and the looming Cold War.
