With only four strings, Jake Shimabukuro is a humble master, whose mission is to connect and inspire people. Whether one on one, or in front of an audience of thousands, Shimabukuro shares a deep emotional connection with the listener that is open, magical, and transcendent. Over the past two decades he has taken his uke on trips into jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, folk and even classical. The Hawaii-born musician rose from local phenom to YouTube sensation to headlining the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including the Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, and the Sydney Opera House. He’s played big-name festivals like Bonnaroo and the Montreal Jazz Fest, toured and collaborated with banjo innovator Béla Fleck, and recorded with cellist Yo-Yo Ma. He was nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as a member of the National Council on the Arts. His latest album, Jake & Friends, includes more than a dozen of these friends including Jon Anderson of Yes, Jimmy Buffett, Warren Haynes, Jack Johnson, Sonny Landreth, Kenny Loggins, Ziggy Marley, Bette Midler, Billy Strings,Vince Gill, and Willie Nelson.
