INTRO TO SEWING & QUILTING

Date/Time

Location

Make-It Springfield (168 Worthington Street Springfield, MA 01103, Springfield MA)

This is a small class introduction to the sewing machine! Expect to receive the full attention of the instructor as you learn sewing basics by making a quilted pillowcase for a standard or throw pillow. You will learn basic sewing functions like back tacking, how to turn a corner when sewing, the basic design principles of quilting, and best practices for using a sewing machine.

If you've already taken class, come back and use our sewing machines for practice, another project and instructor support.

This activity is appropriate for learners age 12 and up. All materials will be provided.

$10, includes all materials and Make-It machines are available to use.

We are committed to making our workshops financially available to all. If assistance is needed to attend, please reach out to marla@makeitspringfield.org.

About the instructor: Rusty Polsgrove is a making enthusiast and Make-It Springfield's Studio Assistant. They enjoy fiber arts, sculpture, learning new things and can often be found quilting or working with the 3d printers at Make-It during open hours.
