Guitar for Beginners

Ever been interested in picking up a guitar, but didn’t know where to start? Then this class is for you – no experience necessary, whatsoever. Come learn how to make some cool sounds with a guitar in a low-stress and friendly learning environment, and take the first step into the amazing world of music! Taught by Jon Ventulett.

During this class, we will be discussing:

-Basic scales (C major and A minor)

-The parts of the guitar

-Posture and hand positioning

-Picking / strumming

-Open chords

-The names of the notes

-Fretboard layout

If you have an extra guitar or two laying around please bring ‘em in to share. Fair condition guitars, picks, tuners, and small stands are also helpful.
