40 YEARS OF MAMBO: CELEBRATING MONDONGO'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF PLAYING AND COMPOSING SALSA

Grupo Mambique will be hosting a concert celebrating Jim "Mondongo" Messbauer's 40 years in the latin scene. The concert will highlight dance rhythms of the Caribbean and Lower Antilles.The group is well-versed in these traditions and present a combination of traditional and original tunes to move the genre forward. The concert will feature Grupo Mambique and other guests.

Grupo Mambique is made up of Jim Messbauer and Russell Jewell, trombones, and Nelson Milano and Manolo Mairena, percussion. Pioneers of Chamber Mambo, they are uniquely acoustic and an original experience. Grupo Mambique allows the music to sound the way the instruments were meant to be heard, not processed through machines. They combine horns and Latin percussion masters to present the dance rhythms of Latin America.
