First Sunday Free — frame and reframe

Date/Time

Location

Clark Art Institute (225 South Street, Williamstown, MA 01267, Williamstown MA)

As part of First Sunday Free at the Clark, the museum will offer a free afternoon of family activities to talk about something that is often overlooked — the frame.

Along with their often-ornate decoration, frames serve an important function: defining what we can and cannot see. Take a viewfinder into the galleries and discover interesting compositions all around you. Decorate a frame to take home for your own photo or artwork.

Join the Clark in the galleries for a conversation with Hugh Glover, former conservator of furniture and frames at the Williamstown + Atlanta Art Conservation Center, for an in-depth conversation about the materials and preservation of frames that is sure to “reframe” the way you see art

Free admission all day with activities in the Clark Center lower level from 1 to 4 p.m.
