The 28th annual Festival Latino of the Berkshires returns with a celebration of Latino culture, live music and dance, artists, artisans and food in a day filled with rhythm and excitement. This year’s Festival Latino brings an array of activities, including live performances from renowned Latinx artists and folkloric dance troupes.

The festival will have a diverse lineup of food vendors offering authentic Latin American cuisine and a marketplace with local artisans and craftspeople. This event aims to showcase the rich tapestry of Hispanic/Latino/Latinx culture while fostering community spirit and inclusivity.

The Festival free of charge and open to all and alcohol-free, around the Town Hall and Saint James Place on Main Street in Great Barrington.

Highlights of the 2024 Festival Latino Include:

• Live Music and Performances: Enjoy electrifying performances from celebrated musicians. Hear the angelic voices of the Berkshire Children’s Chorus singing bilingual songs. Featured acts include Tambacum – pacific rhythms from Colombia, Cancioneros– Mexican Mariachi Trio from NYC, and the grand finale with Grammy-award winning Villalobos Brothers at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center.

• Folkloric Dance Shows: Experience Afro-Cuban music and choreography from OYU ORO. Be dazzle by Estampas Folkoricas Mexicanas from the Bronx, NY. Watch the Ninos de las Americas parade of local children in various traditional outfits from the Caribbean, Central and South America.

• Ethnic Latino Food Vendors: Savor Latin American dishes, from tacos and tropical fruits to arepas and churros.

•Family-Friendly Activities: Enjoy a myriad of activities for all ages, including face painting, dancing, interactive booths from community service organizations and more.

The celebration continues after hours at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center with the Grammy award-winning Villalobos Brothers perform a vibrant blend of Son Jarocho, Son Huasteco, Latin Jazz, and Classical Music.

the growing Hispanic community in the Berkshires.

Through folkloric dance, artisan arts and crafts and food, the Festival each September has provided a familial space of joy and learning for locals and visitors. and a time for the Latino community to rediscover their roots and strengthen identities and artistic and creative freedom.
