Call to Artists - Burnett Gallery of the Jones Library

The Burnett Gallery in the Jones Library is pleased to invite applications for shows that will run monthly from July 2023 to January 2024.  Since the founding of the Jones Library in 1921, the Burnett Gallery has offered area artists and craftspeople a public space in which to show their work.  These shows display the work of community artists and craftspeople in a variety of media styles, cultural viewpoints, and levels of artistic experience.  The Gallery provides a place where area artists can show their work; particularly those without the reputation or resources which would enable them to exhibit at museums or commercial galleries. Such shows have been a part of the library’s programs to encourage appreciation and understanding of art.  Submission of artwork in any two- or three-dimensional medium is welcome.

In-person receptions have resumed and artists are encouraged to invite the public to view their work on display.  Individuals and groups from Amherst and the surrounding towns may apply online.  Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2023.
