Tomo Sakai Curates Glass: Coldworking
“Coldworking refers to the fabrication of glass at room temperature, and typically involves grinding, polishing, cutting, and laminating. Most handmade glass requires some coldworking, and some glass artists specialize in this craft.” – Tomo Sakai
Tomo Sakai has shown nationally and internationally as part of Cruze+Sakai (she creates glass with Eric Cruze). She has taught at the Corning Glass Museum among other venues. The pursuit of her art has brought her into contact with many different glass makers. She has chosen 6 of these artists to show with her at Salmon Falls Gallery, in Shelburne Falls, MA.
The seven artists represented are: Martin Rosol of Shelburne, MA, Sidney Hutter of Waltham, MA, Aron Leaman of Dracut, MA, Josh Bernbaum of Brattleboro, VT, Trina Urrata-Weintraub of Waltham, MA, Emilio Santini of Blacksburg, VA, and curator Tomo Sakai of Worcester, MA.
Tomo Sakai Curates Glass: Coldworking can be seen through the end of the year at Salmon Falls Gallery in Shelburne Falls, MA. Our brick & mortar gallery is open 7 days a week 11am to 5pm, and our online store is open 24/7. The reception for this exhibit is Sunday, November 14, 2-4pm with music by Loren Feinstein.
