‘INTIMATES’, paintings by Joy Kinigstein is a visual and personal investigation into close friends, family, and self. Trained both as an artist and art educator, Joy Kinigstein’s whole life has been informed by the creative process. The acrylic and watercolor paintings that comprise the show, mark both a return to painting and portraiture for Ms. Kinigstein. ‘INTIMATES’ is on view in Williamsburg, MA at Meekins Library from December until January 2023. An artist’s reception will be held on Sunday, January 8 between 2:00 and 4:30 PM.
Originally from the New York metropolitan area, Kinigstein has made Western Massachusetts her home since 1984. Haydenville based, she is a multimedia artist whose backdrops, masks, and props have been showcased in film and theatrical productions, whose illustrations have been seen in book format, and whose sculptural crocheted pieces have been exhibited at curated craft shows. Most recently she taught art at Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School for 24 years.
