Acclaimed and New York Times bestselling novelist Ann Patchett will hold a virtual conversation with NPR broadcaster and international journalist Scott Simon, reflecting on home, family, friendships and writing in her deeply personal new collection of essays.

Ann Patchett is the author of eight novels, four works of nonfiction, and two children’s books. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the PEN/Faulkner, the Women’s Prize in the U.K., and the Book Sense Book of the Year. Her most recent novel, The Dutch House, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Her work has been translated into more than thirty languages. TIME magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where she is the co-owner of Parnassus Books.

Scott Simon, natinally acclaimed awardwinning writer and broadcaster, is the host of Weekend Edition Saturday and one of the hosts of NPR’s morning news podcast Up First. He has reported from all 50 states, five continents, and ten wars, from El Salvador to Sarajevo to Afghanistan and Iraq. His books have chronicled character and characters, in war and peace, sports and art, tragedy and comedy.
