An evening with Billy Keane and Al Olender
Date/Time
Location
Egremont Barn (17 Main Street, Egremont, MA 01230, Egremont MA)
Billy Keane and Al Olender will perform a blend of neo folk/americana with indie rock and country live at the Egremont Barn.
Keene’s sound is inspired by his life, he says, his listening, his belief that to be human means to experience the universe and our world and its people and to reflect all that back upon itself through artistic expression. He can be found performingas a a solo act with an acoustic guitar, or as a full band setup reflective of his most recent album, too much to let it go (release early 2022), at festivals all over the country, and he has had the honor of sharing the stage with household names like: James Taylor, Yo-yo Ma, the Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler and many others at venues as wide ranging as Mass MoCA, the Greenriver fest in Mass., the Kate Wolf fest in California, and various other festivals and concert halls.
He has also played legendary folk clubs fromCambridge’s Club Passim, and Saratoga Springs’ caffe lena to New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, LA’s Hotel Cafe and San Franciso’s Hotel Utah.
In the past few years, he has become more involved in on camera work and music videos (Sierra Ferrell’s “In dreams”, Johnny Irion’s “Tonight”). In 2014 he co-founded the collaborative songwriter project called the Whiskey Treaty Roadshow (2020 release band together with Steve Gorman of the Black Crowes and Pat Sansone of Wilco). Whiskey Treaty Roadshow has toured nationally and received wide acclaim both for their live records and studio album.
Al Olender, a tragicomic song singer from Baltimore, Maryland, performs on voice and guitar (sometimes electric, sometimes acoustic). Harmony obsessed. small sentences, big heart. Al currently lives in the Hudson Valley, and she is fresh off tour with the Felice Brothers.
The barn at the Egremont Village Inn hosts live music and events outdoors — concerts, comedy and karaoke have been drawing a community here, and the pub serves comfort food.
