Since its inception, although often not recognized, Black musicians have been integral to country, folk, blues, and Americana. The Black Opry was founded by Nashville's Holly G. to celebrate and advance this tradition. The collective launched as a joyful, supportive online space where Black artists could be heard and celebrated. When members from the collective tour, they go by the Black Opry Revue – showcasing the diversity in sound and stories that Black artists bring to this music. Aisha Burns, Grace Givertz, and Chris Walton will all perform as the Black Opry Revue makes its Bombyx debut. Aisha Burns Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and currently residing in Western Massachusetts, violinist and singer-songwriter Aisha Burns’ music has been called "twisting, ethereal...arresting" by Dazed Magazine, and praised for its "delicate intimacy" by NPR. Grace Givertz Grace Givertz is a Boston based indie folk singer songwriter. She pairs her witty and honest lyrics with a variety of instruments to bring a refreshing sound to her graceful style of folk. Chris Walton Chris Walton’s music is a modern blend of classic Soul, Jazz, and Funk with homage to the likes of Sade, John Mayer and Lauryn Hill. A Berklee College of Music grad living in Boston, he just recorded his first album.
